Competition Details

Except for the decorative classes, the exhibitor must have grown all plants and flowers entered for competition. PLEASE PROVIDE CONTAINERS THAT WILL NOT TIP. Entry tag must be tied to the exhibit. Make sure your entry meets and does not go beyond the class specifics.

$10 to the exhibitor obtaining the most points in classes 201 to 223. Prior year’s winner is not eligible.

HORTICULTURAL CLASSES

Prizes: 1st $3.00, 2nd$2.00, 3rd$1.00

Containers for cultural exhibits should be of suitable size for entry. Cultural classes are not to be arranged as in the decorative classes. Only the quality of the flowers will be taken into consideration. The containers will not be judged although it should be clean, appropriate size and complement the entry. No entry to be more than 24 inches tall.

Cultural flowers must be shown with FOLIAGE (THEIR OWN).

  3. Narcissus or daffodil, any type, 1 scape
  4. Lily of the valley, 3 stems.
  5. Viola or Pansy, 3 stems
  6. Iris, 1 stem with foliage, any number of blooms or buds.

HOUSE PLANTS POT-GROWN

Prizes: 1st $3.00, 2nd$2.00,3rd $1.00

House plants to be in the possession of the exhibitor at least 3 months prior to the show. Plants and pots must be clean and ready to show. Where possible, please name your plant for the benefit of the public. Overall size not to be more than 24 inches across, maximum pot size 8 inches.

Single branch, maximum length 24 inches.

DECORATIVE CLASSES

Prizes: 1st $10.00, 2nd $7.00, 3rd$5.00

NO BOUQUETS, must be arranged with line, focal, and filler plant material.

  2. Basket of Fun– A Country arrangement in a basket
  3. Spice of Life-An arrangement using fresh herbs
  4. Grace & Alvin Good Memorial Special– Best arrangement of fruit, flowers and vegetables. Basket max. size 2’x2’ (60cmx60cm)
  5. Daphne Scaife Memorial Special-Arrangement showcasing the fair theme, “There’s Still a Taste of Country”
