Caledon Fair

Join us at the 158th Annual Caledon Fair June , 8, 9, 10!

Thank you to all who participated and attended our 2017 Caledon Fair.

Our fair has been running in Caledon Village since 1860 during the reign of Queen Victoria.

Fairs were started across the country when it was beginning to be settled by pioneers, as a way to encourage improvements, education and productivity of all aspects of agriculture.

For example a prize winning animal at the local fair could command a higher service fee, and be more sought after for service. This helped to improve bloodlines, and productivity.

This had the same effect for other livestock, crops, and even canning and preserving.

Today the fair still has traditional shows for livestock, horses, and crops. In addition to this, the Caledon Agricultural Society, in an increasingly urban setting, strives to educate those who don't have a farm back round in our Agricultural Awareness Tent where visitors to the fair can discover where their food and agricultural derived goods come from through exhibits and live demonstrations.

We hope to see you there!
